Female Body After Delivery
The woman’s body after pregnancy shows a lot of noticeable changes. Here is some information-
The breast is still large. Usually in 3 days of delivery the milk is filled and the breast becomes hard, full and heavy. This makes you feel uncomfortable. For this, use comfortable and supportive nursing bra. As soon as the baby sucks the milk the discomfort in breast is eased. However if you are not going to feed then you need to understand that your body will not stop filling the breast with milk. It will take at least 14 days for the glands to stop milk supply and during this time there may be pain in breast.
Hand-expressing milk will not help and will rather signal for more supply of milk. It is impossible for the milk supply to dry up. This is a temporary discomfort which can be eased by using cold compress and take ibuprofen pain reliever.
It will take around 6 weeks for the uterus to come back to its normal size. So keep your patience. This is very common after 2nd or 3rd delivery.
Your body weight can be a bit heavier after delivery than your pre-pregnancy weight. The breasts can easily add extra weight. The fats stored in body for the baby will decrease away. At least give yourself 6 weeks to return back to normal weight in a natural way.
If the weight is much higher after delivery than your pre pregnancy weight then it is because of what you are eating rather than pregnancy itself. To loose weight and to look slim start exercising. Do this with proper guidance.
